Buhari Approaches NNPC Boss, Mele Kyari, As oil prices increasing.

The Nigeria News Agency (NAN) records that the meeting’s agenda was unknown at the time this report was submitted.

NAN says the meeting came in the middle of the growing conflict between the U.S. and Iran following last week’s killing of an Iranian officer and subsequent retaliatory attacks on military bases hosting U.S. troops in Iraq.

NAN also notes that the president, who serves equally as Petroleum Resources Minister, will also meet with State Minister Petroleum Resources, Mr. Timipre Sylva, later on, Wednesday.

The global benchmark, Brent crude, gained 2.4 percent on Monday to reach $70.24 per barrel, the first time prices hit that amount in more than seven months.
